Description
Ingredient:
Céfadroxil monohydrate ……………500mg
Properties:
Franroxil 500 is a bactericidal antibiotic belonging to the beta-lactam family, the cephalosporin group has a broad antibacterial spectrum, high bioavailability.
Well absorbed through the digestive tract and maintains long-term concentrations. Antibacterial spectrum:
Franroxil 500 is a bactericidal antibiotic, effective against many Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.
Frequently susceptible bacteria: Staphylocoque susceptible to methicillin; Streptococcus including Penicillin-sensitive Streptococcus pneumoniae, the Hemolytic Streptococcus, Streptococcus pyogenes; Branhamella catarrhalis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Pasteurella; Corynebacterium diphteriae, Propionibacterium acnes. Haemophilus influenzae.
Occasional susceptible bacteria: Klebsiella, Escherichia coli; Fusobacterium, Prevotella.
Bacteria suspected of resistance: Staphylococcus resistant to methicillin, Steptococcus resistant or less susceptible to penicillin, Enterococcus; Listeria monocytogenes; Enterobacte; Serratia; Citrobacter freundii; Proteus vulgaris; Morganella morganii; Pseudomonas sp; Acinetobacter, other non-fermenting Gram-negative bacteria; Bacteroides; Clostridium difficile.
Pharmacokinetics:
Franroxil is stable in acidic environments and is very well absorbed through the gastrointestinal tract. Up to 90% of the concentration is absorbed into the serum. Food does not alter the absorption of the drug.
Peak concentrations are achieved 1 hour and 30 minutes after oral administration; serum concentrations are maintained at effective levels for 6 -9 hours.
Franroxil is approximately 20% bound in plasma.
The half-life is 1 hour 30 minutes, but still maintains a long bactericidal effect concentration (6-9 hours).
The drug is excreted mainly through urine in its active form. Urine concentrations are quite high and remain for 6 hours. Over 90% of the administered dose is recovered in the urine after 24 hours.
Point:
Infections caused by susceptible bacteria require treatment with oral antibiotics, except for meningeal infections, mainly in:
Respiratory tract infections : tonsillitis, pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess, empyema, pleurisy, sinusitis, laryngitis, otitis media, acute bronchial empyema, and acute bronchitis Acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis.
Skin and soft tissue infections : dermatitis, myositis, lymphangitis, abscesses, cellulitis, bedsores or long-term illness, boils, mastitis, erysipelas.
Genital and urinary tract infections: pyelonephritis, cystitis, urinary tract infections, especially in the lower part, with or without complications, adnexitis, endometritis…
Other infections : myositis, septic arthritis.
Contraindications:
Allergy to antibiotics of the cephalesporine group.
Careful:
In case the patient has renal failure, the dosage needs to be adjusted downward, according to the level of creatinine clearance or according to blood creatinine.
Use during pregnancy:
The harmlessness of cefadroxil when administered to pregnant women has not been officially confirmed, however studies conducted in many mammalian species have not shown any mutagenic effects or fetal toxicity. pediatric. pediatric.
Use while breastfeeding:
Céfadroxil is excreted in breast milk at lower concentrations than therapeutic concentrations, so breastfeeding is still possible during treatment. Breastfeeding should be stopped if diarrhea, fungus, or skin rashes appear on the infant.
Drug interactions:
A positive de Coombs test has been reported during treatment with cephalosporins in general.
Céfadroxil can also give false positive results in testing for urinary glucose with reducing agents, but does not cause this effect when using specific methods with glucose oxidase.
Adverse effects:
Allergic manifestations: hives, rash.
Expression in blood; transient increase in eosinophils.
Pseudomembranous colitis has a very low frequency.
There is a certain amount of kidney toxicity.
Dosage and Administration:
Adults, 2 grams per day, just need to divide the dose to take 2 times a day. The dose can be increased to 3 grams/day if the patient does not have kidney failure.
Children (4-9 years old), 1 gram per day, divided into 2 times.
Take the capsule with a little water before or during a meal.
Preserve:
Store in a cool, dry place under normal conditions, product life is 36 months.
